Social Media and the effects it can have

My sister and I were talking about social media today and how inspiring it can be but also can be so destructive when you are in a mode of comparison or passionate purpose to what you want as a certain amount of followers. My friend since childhood, is pregnant with her 4th child and works the night shift in the NICU- all the whole time taking care of the household needs and her mother who lives downstairs with cancer. She is in a season of life where just getting dinner on the table and kids in a bath is the most productive thing in her life right now. I know a lot of you have asked me how one finds time for ones self when there are so many pressing needs and responsibilities, taking time means making yourself a cup of tea and forcing yourself to sip it for 5 minutes alone. Taking 5 minutes to say a little thankful prayer to God. Taking 10 mins for a home workout, or a barre3 video. Stepping outside and taking 10-15 deep breaths. Taking the time to pick flowers in your garden, or to get a bouquet of flowers at the market. Making a call to your grandmother to catch up. We get so swept up in social media and checking our phones, we forget..

Your purpose isn't smaller than someone else just because you're in a season of motherhood or have pressing health issues and don't have time to share on a social platform. Make sure you don't discount the greatest purpose of all, to connect with yourself, others and God.
