This is 40!

You've seen that movie, "This is 40?", Well, I remember when I saw it years ago, I thought, wow, that's 40? She looked so hot and even though at times she was a little manic, she was so cool. Her life though, seemed to be falling apart. I totally related to her. Now that I am approaching my 40th bday, (today as a matter of fact), I find myself referencing that movie. I laugh today thinking how different I am from that charactor in that movie. I look back to where I was 10 years ago..... I was headed for a divorce, had to restart my career I had put on hold, moved to a new city and had a little boy entering kindergarden. Now, ten years later, I have the same awesome career, a new career in the works, moved to another new city and that same little boy is now entering high school!!!

So they say that 40 is the new 30?! Well, I sure hope so. I am feeling pretty fabulous. I think I look better than I did when I started my 30's, feel better mentally than I did in my early 30's and I definitely have gained a ton of wisdom as I am approaching 40.

What do they call it? Aging gracefully? Getting older is really all in your state of mind. You can really balk at it, kicking and screaming the whole way or you can just let it happen and enjoy the ride. And although that movie struck a cord with me years ago, today as I am turning 40, it has a different moral to the story then it did years ago.

So again, I say, bring it on!!! Hello 40!!
