Turning 12!! My Ellie isn't a baby anymore

I can't believe my baby is 12!! Holy cow how time flies. I remember when she was born. What an exciting but scary time in our lives. Ellie was due on August 12th, 2003 but she decided to come into this world on July 2nd instead. Scared the freak out of her dad and I. Luckily after being in the NICU for only 13 days, we got to bring this little beauty home.

Having a child with special needs changes your life forever. Ellie has changed our lives forever in so many amazing ways. Like you have read in my posts before, she is truely a blessing from the Lord.

This same little girl that didn't talk til she was 2, didn't walk til she was 1 1/2, the little girl that constantly had to be watched, now wants to go into the store by herself to buy things. She wants to walk into school by herself, ride around the neighborhood by herself. All things we were told she would not be able to do when she was born. Oh how she has showed us that there is a God and that you can't listen to those "experts" that tell you that she will never have a "normal" life. Oh how she has grown up into a beautiful young lady. ( I sound like my dad ).

Happy Birthday to our beautiful Ellie. Excited to go to Big Al's tonight for her celebration.
