Smoothie
So the new thing lately seems to be smoothies. I have been making myself one now for probably over 2 years. It has taken me awhile to perfect them too. I like to change it up at times and do something different than my norm. I will try a new seed, chia is really good lately. I will try to branch out and add a new fruit. I seem to always come back to the basic though. The less you put in the better is my motto. When you try to get too crafty or try some new add on that someone on pinterest has recommended, that is when I feel it turns into much more of an aqurired taste.
For me it's all about fast, easy and of course, I have to be able to drink it. As you will see in some of my pics, I have tried to drink all my "greens" in a one stop shop drink. I personally can't get it down the trachea more than 3 gulps without literally upchuking it or atleast having it come up in my mouth...that's not fun and that is not what it should be about. RIght? Greens, greens...everryone is so gung -ho with Greens! What did our mother's do when we were growing up? I had some sort of green on my plate every night at dinner. I am not saying that I ate all of them. a lot of times, they became a good border for my plate. My mom was such a stickler and such a Marth Stewart of the 80's that we had to eat that crap frequently. I will never forget my brother hdidng his peas in his pocket one night. My mom of course figured it out and made him go eat his meal in the bathroom!! Who does that? Who makes their son eat their dinner in the bathroom, on the toilet?! What did that teach us? Not to freakn' eat GREENS!!! What I am trying to say is that I don't want that for my kids...I don't want them to hate their greens. My philosophy is let's get this over with and lets' camoflauge it so good that we don't even know what we are eating!!
So with that being said, I am sharing my GREEN SMOOTHIE with you all today. I am not going to claim that everyone is going to love it aka, boyfriends and husbands, I have given up on them liking it years ago.. I am talking about women and children. I can acutally tell you my kids will drink this and acutally finish it. I am not going to lie and say It's a burgerville shake but they will drink it without giving me grief.
